About Us

Vater Machinery Pty Ltd was established in 2016 by brothers Roger and Rick Vater, who purchased an existing New Holland dealership in Tanunda, Barossa Valley, South Australia. In 2019, they acquired the Machinery Division of AW Vater & Co, founded by their parents in 1956, located at Saddleworth, along with a Kadina branch acquired in 2013. That same year, they built a new dealership in Nuriootpa, relocating the Barossa business to meet growing demand. These three branches—Saddleworth, Kadina, and Nuriootpa—have since merged into a respected business with influence across South Australia.

Our partnership with New Holland began in June 1960, making us one of their longest-serving Australian dealers. New Holland is our primary franchise across all branches, offering a wide range of products, including tractors, combines, hay equipment, and handling equipment.

We complement our offerings with products and services from other leading franchises such as JCB, MacDon, Flexicoil, Horsch, Croplands, Rogator, Braud, Arcusin, Polaris, Stihl, Sonic, Gason, Grizzly, Atlas Copco, and Challenge (availability varies by branch). We also provide finance options for approved applicants.

We are proud to be associated with trusted, reliable brands and are committed to delivering exceptional service and support. With extensive experience in agriculture and viticulture, our mission is to provide practical solutions by understanding our customers' needs. We value long-term relationships with customers, suppliers, and staff, aiming to add value through industry best practices and advanced technology.
